EUROSONG - Eurovision song contest

20 January 2009 is the deadline for entering into the national round.

The entry song shall be sent on the CD on the address:

 

- The contest songs (text and music) cannot be presented publicly or used commercially before 1 October 2008

- The maximum time of the song is 3 minutes.

- Every performance can consist of six people on the stage. Animals are forbidden on the stage.

- The participating performermust be 16 years old 

- The performer, as well as the authors, must have the Slovak citizenship.

- The text of the song cannot include vulgarism, words which provoke the racism, political themes, nor commercial messages of any kind.

Breaking these rules may cause disqualification of the participant.

 

  

 

The Slovak Television declared on Thursday, 20^th November 2008 on the press conference The National Round Eurovision Song Contest 2009.  Roman Liptak, the STV Program Director said: “We believe that authorial and interpretation potential in Slovakia is rich and wide enough to choose worthy and successful delegate.”

The big final of the 54^th Eurovision Song Contest 2009 will be held in Moscow, 16^th May 2009. STV will also broadcast the semi-finals and thelive broadcast from the National final round, which will be held on 8^th March 2009.  The Program Director of the STV said: “The national rounds will be held according to the number of registered songs and interpreters. We wish our TV studios in the city of Kosice and Banska Bystrica would take part in broadcasting. We believe in equality and opportunity, the contest is open for every author and interpreter. I respect all of them. Nobody will be preferred, that´s why we opened this contest by the public appeal and those who accept it they will try to court the favour of the audience. I think that here in Slovakia are a lot of natural talents, in this I am an eternal optimist. Since the moment, when the STV declared its interest to enter in this project, a lot of people raised their voices, asked for more information and showed the willingness and interest to take part in the contest.”
